Sclafani powers Grizzlies past 51s

Joe Sclafani had three hits and drove in four runs to lead Fresno to a 12-4 win over the 51s in a Pacific Coast League game at Cashman Field on Wednesday night.

The Grizzlies second baseman tripled and scored three times.

Jonathan Villar homered and drove in three runs for Fresno (57-41). Domingo Santana and Robbie Grossman each hit a solo home run.

Grizzlies starter Mike Hauschild allowed just one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out eight.

Jayce Boyd had two doubles and drove in two runs for Las Vegas (56-42). Brandon Allen also had two hits.

Starter Darin Gorski suffered his first loss for the 51s since a 7-2 defeat at Fresno on June 20. He had won four straight decisions.

The Grizzlies have taken two of the first three games of a series that concludes at 7:05 p.m. today.
