Shooting woes continue to plague Lady Rebels in 82-56 loss at Wyoming

For the third straight game, the UNLV women’s basketball team hit less than one-third of its shots. And for the third straight game, the Lady Rebels were soundly beaten.

UNLV lost to Wyoming 82-56 on Saturday in a Mountain West game at Laramie, Wyo. The Lady Rebels have been outscored by 74 points during their three-game losing streak.

UNLV (9-14, 6-5 MW) shot 32.8 percent, hitting 20 of 61 field-goal attempts, against Wyoming (15-6, 6-4). Mia Bell was 4 of 14 and Danielle Miller 3 of 12 for the Lady Rebels, who were 3 of 15 on 3-pointers.

The Lady Rebels did hit five of their first seven shots to take an 11-7 lead four minutes into the game. But the Cowgirls went on a 15-2 run in the next 5 minutes, 25 seconds, a span during which UNLV missed eight of nine shots and committed three turnovers.

Wyoming went on a 16-3 run late in the game to take its largest lead, 81-50.

Alana Cesarz led the Lady Rebels with 16 points, hitting 6 of 12 shots, and Bell scored 10.
