Sir Recruiter

One of the things that makes Charles Barkley so great on “Inside the NBA,” is how willing he is to speak off the cuff and tell the truth.

He will critique old friends and teammates without a second thought when it is warranted.

Barkley’s also a jokester and it’s sometimes difficult to tell when he’s kidding or just telling a true story from the past.

Sometimes he combines both at the same time.

If he was having an honest moment on Thursday night’s show, the NCAA may be interested in what he had to say.

According to AwfulAnnouncing.com, While discussing how good Dirk Nowitzki has been in his career, Barkley said he had played with Nowitzki overseas and offered him money to attend Barkley’s alma mater, Auburn, before the German star decided to turn pro.

Interesting, but it got better.

Barkley added it would have been “the best investment since Cam Newton.”

Hooray for amateurism.
