Three seeded players advance to semifinals of Red Rock Pro Open
Three seeded players and a qualifier reached the semifinals of the Red Rock Pro Open on Friday at Red Rock Country Club.
Third-seeded Anna Tatishvili defeated Jennifer Brady 6-3, 3-6, 7-5; No. 4 Madison Brengle beat Nicole Vaidisova 6-4, 6-3; No. 8 Michelle Larcher De Brito upset No. 2 Timea Babos 6-3, 6-4; and qualifier Kateryna Bondarenko ousted Sesil Karatantcheva 6-1, 6-3.
In Saturday’s semifinals in the USTA Women’s $50,000 Pro Circuit event, Tatishvili will meet Larcher De Brito at 11 a.m. on Stadium Court, followed by Bondarenko against Brengle.
In doubles, Asia Muhammad and Maria Sanchez defeated Nicole Melichar and Allie Will 6-7 (6), 6-4, 10-5 to reach Sunday’s final. The top-seeded duo will face Veronica Cepede Royg and Maria Irigoyen, who eliminated Louisa Chirico and Sanaz Marand 6-3, 7-5.
