Two prep throwers win events at World Youth Track and Field Trials
Liberty High throwers Ashlie Blake and Reno Tu’ufuli each won an event Wednesday at the World Youth Track and Field Trials in Edwardsville, Ill.
Blake won the girls shot put with a throw of 58 feet, 11½ inches. She placed second in the discus on Tuesday with a mark of 154-7.
Tu’ufuli won the boys discus with a throw of 195-3.
Both athletes qualified to represent the United States at the IAAF World Youth Championships July 10 to 14 in Donetsk, Ukraine.
