With UNLV contract awaiting approval, Chris Beard briefly talks Rebel basketball
April 4, 2016 - 7:43 am
New UNLV basketball coach Chris Beard has not spoken to the local media because the University of Nevada Board of Regents still have not approved his contract.
Beard, however, gave an interview to a San Diego radio station at the Final Four in Houston, and he had to be careful what he said about the Rebels.
His contract, expected to be for five years and about $1 million, is going through the newly created review process the regents established before going to the full board. It could reach the regents Monday, and if so, a special meeting will be called for Friday.
