Kremer pitches Rebels to baseball victory over Cal State Fullerton

Dean Kremer pitched eight shutout innings to lead UNLV to a 2-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton in a nonconference baseball game Sunday in Fullerton, California.

Kremer (2-4), a junior right-hander, gave up five hits and three walks and struck out four. Ben Wright pitched a perfect ninth for his ninth save.

Payton Squier hit a two-out RBI single in the third inning, and Nick Ames hit a run-scoring single in the fourth for the Rebels (17-22), who halted a six-game win streak by the Titans (24-14).

A.J. VanMeetren went 2-for-4 for UNLV, which held a 6-5 edge in hits.

Fullerton starter Blake Quinn (4-3) was charged with two runs, one earned, on five hits and two walks in four innings. Colton Eastman replaced him and blanked the Rebels on one hit and two walks and struck out 10 over the final five innings.
