Chris Wood, a former UNLV star who was bypassed Thursday in the two-round NBA Draft, agreed to a free-agent deal with the Houston Rockets, according to multiple sources.
A 6-foot-11-inch forward, Wood averaged 15.7 points and 10.0 rebounds as a sophomore for the Rebels. He was projected as a first-round pick when he declared for the draft in April, but his stock tumbled in recent weeks.
Wood did not return a phone call seeking comment.
The Rockets will participate in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in July.
Rashad Vaughn, a freshman shooting guard from UNLV, was the 17th overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks, who also will play in the summer league in Las Vegas.
