Former UNLV men’s basketball forward Khem Birch signed with the Miami Heat, the team announced Sunday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

A two-time Mountain West defensive player of the year with the Rebels, the 6-foot-9-inch, 220-pound Birch averaged 11.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game as a junior last season. His average of 3.8 blocks per game ranked second nationally.
