Highly rated hoops recruit Rawle Alkins enjoys trip to UNLV

Rawle Alkins, one of the nation's top basketball recruits, posted on Twitter he had a good visit to UNLV.

He attended Tuesday's practice and Wednesday's 64-61 victory by the Rebels over San Jose State at the Thomas & Mack Center.

"UNLV visit was amazing, great group of guys that are destined for greatness," Alkins tweeted. He included a photo of himself standing between interim coach Todd Simon and associate head coach Ryan Miller.

Alkins later tweeted that he would was on a flight to an official visit to Arizona. He also has visited St. John's.

According to the 247Sports.com composite rankings, the 6-foot 5-inch guard from New York is the nation's No. 17 prospect. Alkins has received numerous scholarship offers.
