Years: 1985 to 1988

Career highlights:

■ Started on the 1986-87 team that reached the NCAA Final Four and finished 37-2.

■ Ranks second to Larry Johnson in career field-goal percentage (.608).

■ First-team All-Big West selection in 1988, when he led the Rebels in rebounds and blocked shots.

Quotable: "I always felt UNLV got a bad rap because Coach (Jerry Tarkanian) was giving so many inner-city kids and junior college players an opportunity. We weren't your typical North Carolina, Duke or UCLA type of kids. I think (Tark) is one of the greatest coaches ever." -- Basnight

Currently: Works in family's foster care business in Detroit. Played 10 years professionally, overseas and in the Continental Basketball Association.
