The clock is winding down on the Rebels

In more ways than one, the clock is winding down on the Runnin’ Rebels basketball season.

Last Saturday night, the clock was running down when Deville Smith launched a 3 to potentially win the game up in Boise. But the Rebels didn’t have the luck in their hands that night and the bucket was ruled too late. The Rebels lost the game, and third place in the Mountain West, falling behind Boise St. into fourth.

It was quite the heartbreaker for Rebel fans, as well as Deville Smith and the other Rebs who thought we had won the game. On 2/24 the Mountain West officials said they had made a mistake and there should have been more time on the clock. In that case, the shot WOULD have been good. But it's too late to get the W on the books now.

The Rebels come back home Wednesday night where they will face Colorado State and seek revenge from the loss in Ft. Collins earlier this season. Only two home games left, hope to see you there.

The Rebel Starzz are dancing at halftime so you know I’ll be down there taking pictures of the little one! :)

My little one loves snow (I have no idea where she gets that from) so I took her up to Logan, Utah for the Utah State game and then for some fun in Brianhead the next day. I was excited to see the famous student section at the Spectrum Arena. I was also happy to see some other Rebel friends there. I sat with Ryan Pulliam who is a big Rebel fan and goes to many away games. The Rebels came out dominant in the game and never looked back. They won that game 73-62. The trip is always much more fun when the Rebs win on the road.

The Rebels baseball team started their season a couple weekends ago and got out to a 4-0 start winning all 4 games against Central Michigan, but stumbled last weekend in Tennessee. Their record now stands at 4-3. The Hustlin’ Rebels are back home this weekend vs. Air Force Academy with games Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then one Monday against UC Riverside. With the beautiful weather we are having here in Vegas, make sure you get out there for one of them.

So Rebel fans, I hope to see you out at the last couple of basketball games before the Mountain West tournament (March 12-15) or at Earl Wilson baseball fields.

GO REBELS!
