UNLV basketball will kick off 2015-16 against Fresno State

UNLV will host Fresno State on Dec. 30 to kick off its 2015-16 Mountain West men’s basketball conference schedule, which was released Wednesday.

The Rebels will play eight home-and-home series — against UNR, San Diego State, Fresno State, Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Air Force and Wyoming — with single games at home vs. San Jose State and on the road at Utah State.

UNLV will wrap up its regular season March 5 at San Diego State, with the MW tournament scheduled from March 9 to 12 at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The schedule released today is subject to change as MW national television partners CBS Sports Network and ESPN will initiate a selection procedure that will include the shifting of Wednesday games to Tuesday and Saturday games to Sunday. The national TV selections should be completed by the middle of August.

Game times have yet to be announced.

The Rebels went 18-15 overall last season and 8-10 in conference play. They beat UNR in the first round of the MW tournament before losing to San Diego State in the quarterfinals.
