UNLV will host Southern Illinois on Dec. 19, 2016, in the next Mountain West/Missouri Valley Conference Challenge. The conferences announced pairings for 10 men's basketball games, with nine of the games taking place Dec. 3.

The Rebels lost at Wichita State in this season's Challenge Series, which the Mountain West won 6-4.

In other highlighted matchups in 2016, San Diego State plays at Loyola (Chicago), Colorado State hosts Wichita State, Wyoming hosts Northern Iowa, and UNR is at Bradley.
