UNLV’s Walker transfers to Chaminade

Dantley Walker, a former Lincoln County High School star who spent two years at UNLV, is transferring to Chaminade, a Division II program in Honolulu.

A 5-foot-11-inch shooting guard, Walker was a seldom-used reserve as a redshirt freshman for the Rebels. He appeared in 11 games, averaged 2.4 points and shot 40 percent (8 of 20) from 3-point range.

Walker will be eligible for the 2015-16 season. Chaminade and UNLV could meet in the Maui Invitational in November.

Walker is the all-time leading scorer in Nevada prep history with 3,304 points. As a senior at Lincoln County in 2011, he averaged 36.2 points.

“Dantley had the greatest high school career of anyone I’ve been able to recruit,” Silverswords coach Eric Bovaird said.
