California junior college WR recruit backs off commitment to UNLV
December 11, 2015 - 12:43 pm
Marquis Wimberly, a wide receiver from Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., reneged on his commitment to play football at UNLV.
"Some miscommunications and other factors leading to it," he posted on Twitter. "But I have to make the best decision for future. ThankYouRebs."
Wimberly also posted a more lengthy explanation that, in part, read, "I don't want to have regrets of making the wrong decision because I did things too fast. I would like to thank all the rebel fans for all the love they have been showing me since I committed back in June. ... Hope no hard feelings and i would like to thank coach Sanchez for giving me the opportunity. Just time to move on."
The Rebels now have 12 commitments for the current class, but more could come this weekend. Seven players are taking official visits.
