UNLV releases football schedule

What could be the most demanding schedule in UNLV football history was released today.

The 13-game schedule includes seven road trips and a school-record nine games against teams that played in bowls last season.

"We've got our hands full, that's for sure," first-year coach Bobby Hauck said.

Hauck noted the Mountain West Conference didn't help the Rebels by scheduling a Sept. 11 trip to Utah the week after opening at home against Wisconsin.

"But no one on the schedule's a gimme," he said. "That doesn't matter. We have to play them as they come."

Hauck, though, did raise a concern about the Nov. 18 home game against Air Force, a Thursday night contest just five days after hosting Wyoming.

"They didn't do us any favors," Hauck said of having to prepare for the triple option.
