What to watch this weekend? Take a guess
Humor us here for a second. Having a hard time deciding what to watch on Sunday afternoon? Can’t choose between a rerun of “The Bachelor” or “We Bought a Zoo?”
We’re going to go out on a limb here and recommend watching Super Bowl XLIX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots (3 p.m., NBC (3)).
According to Nielsen, an average audience of 111.5 million viewers watched last year’s Super Bowl XLVIII telecast in which Seattle destroyed the Denver Broncos 43-8.
Hopefully, this Super Sunday will leave us talking more about the game than deflated balls.
While the Seahawks and their league-leading “Legion of Boom” defense look to become the first team since the Patriots in 2005 to repeat as NFL champions, Tom Brady hopes to join Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw as the only quarterbacks with four Super Bowl rings.
Brady is one of only two players (Mike Lodish is the other) with six Super Bowl appearances, and New England is making its NFL record-tying eighth trip to the Super Bowl, joining the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Seattle’s Russell Wilson, who is 10-0 against Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, is trying to become the first starting QB to win two NFL titles in his first three seasons.
Last year, a record $119.4 million was legally wagered on the Super Bowl in Nevada. For a prop bet, we love over 12.5 PSI, but can’t find a casino to take our action.
