Wild horses adoption event slated for Northern Nevada

Fifteen saddle-trained, wild horses will be offered for adoption on May 18 in Carson City, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

The BLM, Nevada Department of Agriculture and Nevada Department of Corrections will host the second of three horse adoption events at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.

A public viewing of the horses begins at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a competitive bidding adoption at 10 a.m. All horses start at $150.

The wild horses are from ranges in California, Idaho, Oregon, and Nevada. They are between four and five years old, vary in weight and color and are saddle-trained, with at least 120 days of training.
