65-year-old stung over 100 times by swarm of bees

Eloy, AZ — A 65-year-old Eloy-area man is recovering after he was stung more than 100 times by a bee swarm Tuesday afternoon.

Dan Cecil was operating a back hoe in a wash on his Pinal County ranch when the attack occurred around 12:30 p.m.

Cecil called his son who in turn notified the Pinal County sheriff’s dispatcher.

A friend who was with the victim was able to place Cecil into a vehicle and then drove toward a main road where first responders could easily locate them.

Crews rendered aid at the scene and Cecil was taken by Eloy Fire ambulance to Banner Casa Grande for further medical evaluation.
