A Big Cherry Blossom Correction, and Introducing Nevada’s Real 2010 Cherry Blossom Princess

Political Eye on Thursday reported M'Kenzi Peplowski of Henderson as Nevada's 2010 Cherry Blossom Princess.

That was incorrect. Ms. Peplowski will take part in this year's Cherry Blossom Festival, representing not Nevada but the District of Columbia, princess program Chairwoman Adrienne Magnuson confirmed today.

An embarrassed Political Eye's cheeks are cherry red as it regrets the mistake.

So let's try this again. Nevada's 2010 Cherry Blossom Princess is Reno native Victoria Rocha, 23. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in May and works in the Washington office of Sen. Harry Reid.

Ms. Rocha was selected by the Nevada State Society, the organization of Nevadans who live and work in Washington.

"We had a number of well-qualified applicants to represent Nevada in the Cherry Blossom Festival this year," said state society President George Holman. Rocha "has been an active member of the Nevada State Society since she arrived in DC. We believe Victoria will be an outstanding representative for our state."
