When the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas celebrates its fourth anniversary May 19, all of Southern Nevada is welcome to stop by Nature Discovery Park for an evening of free fun and entertainment. Highlights will include a concert by Island Tyme, an Aloha Festival and a fireworks display.

Festivities will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. in the 20-acre park and visitors are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Island-themed food and beverages will be sold at the event, which is sponsored by North Valley Enterprises, LLC, the developer of Aliante, and The City of North Las Vegas.

Encompassing more than 1,900 acres, Aliante consists of a Primary Village and an Active Adult Village, which will collectively have as many as 7,500 homes and a population of about 20,000 when the community is complete. North Valley Enterprises, LLC, is an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Pulte Homes.

Aliante's home builders, in addition to Pulte, include Astoria Homes, Del Webb, KB Home, Lennar and Pardee Homes.

Prices range from the upper $100,000s to the upper $600,000s.

Del Webb is also building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community.

Aliante is bordered roughly by Grand Teton Drive, Centennial Parkway, Decatur Boulevard and Clayton Street. The I-215 beltway on the north side of the valley intersects Aliante and provides access to I-15 and U.S. 95.

Approximately 428 acres of Aliante are designated for recreational and public purposes, including the Aliante Golf Club, Nature Discovery Park, Deer Springs Park, Aviary Park, more than 24 miles of lighted concrete trails and a natural arroyo.

A new fire station opened in April 2004 and the Aliante Library, located adjacent to Nature Discovery Park, opened in May 2006.
