Another Republican seeking assembly seat from Southern Nevada
January 6, 2010 - 11:24 am
Teacher Scott Hammond will seek the Republican nomination for Assembly Seat 13 in Clark County. Hammond teaches at Indian Springs High and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
He's seeking the seat being vacated by Republican Assemblyman Chad Christensen.
Also seeking the seat is Republican Elizabeth Halseth.
Registered Republican Leonard Foster has also said he's interested in running.
But Foster says he and his wife took in six foster children for an as-yet-undetermined amount of time and is no longer sure his family life can accommodate a campaign.
"With nine kids there is just no way you could be in Carson City for four months," Foster said. "My wife would shoot me."
