Another triple bogey for the Obama White House

Our hypocrite president

You can rip BP CEO Tony Hayward for attending a yacht race with his son over the Father's Day weekend, if you like. (I do, BTW.)

And you can rip President Barack Obama for hitting the links for four hours of golf on Saturday, if you like. (I do, BTW.)

But you can't rip one without ripping the other.

So, when the Obama White House mocks Hayward for his Dad's Day outing, but defends Obama's golf date with the boys, well, it's just a bit much to take.

The hypocrites at the White House contend that it was righteous and well deserved for Obama to "decompress" after a hard week presidenting, but absolutely horrible for Hayward to "decompress".

First word of advice: You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Second word of advice: Americans hate hypocrites.

If the president were any kind of leader, he'd suspend the golf outings and postpone his other White House frivolity as a seeable sacrifice to the suffering in the Gulf. Then he might -- might! have a morale leg to stand on when taking the BP CEO to task.

But if there's one thing we know by now about this president, he has no discipline and he is no leader.

(Postscript -- Maybe when the president visits Las Vegas next month -- the No. 1 place for unemployment in the Obama recession -- maybe he can show us his leadership style and how much he feels our pain by chowing down on a big, fat steak while Las Vegas families eat beans and rice. That would be the Obama thing to do, wouldn't it?)
