Ardiente offers activities

Generational expert J. Walker Smith writes in his book, "Generation Ageless," that boomers "have no intention of giving up on life's possibilities." Ardiente in North Las Vegas is offering an age-qualified gated community with activities and amenities geared for the boomer generation. This includes special interest clubs such as an outdoors club, Sunday supper club and Bocce club.

"The many social, educational and recreational opportunities right here within our community gates make it easy to create a life that satisfies an individual's goals and interests," said Ryan Smith, sales manager for Shea Homes, the exclusive builder at Ardiente.

Among the 10 home designs available at Ardiente are three new models -- Rome, Monaco and Nice -- that feature as many as 12 floor plan options per plan, that provide buyers the opportunity to personalize. All are single-story and built to Shea Green Certified standards, which, according to Smith, offer potential energy savings of up to 30 percent and a carbon footprint reduction of up to 48 percent.

The Rome plan measures 1,426 square feet and features two bedrooms, den and two baths with options for a third bedroom and extended patios. A covered patio next to the kitchen and nook area creates a light-filled space for cooking and dining.

The Monaco plan measures 1,583 square feet and features two bedrooms, den and two baths with the option to convert the master bedroom into a true master retreat.

The largest model, Nice, measure 1,930 square feet and features two bedrooms, den, two baths, a floating island in the kitchen, great room, private dining room off a covered patio to maximize indoor and outdoor dining opportunities and SmartSpace laundry and work room.

"With all of the opportunities to customize floor plans -- plus the more than 2,000 personalized selections available through our Design Studio, buyers can create what is essentially a one-of-a-kind home," Smith said.

The community will host an island-style grand opening today and Sunday featuring entertainment, island music, food and activities including golf swing clinics, aerobics classes, bocce instruction, dog training, line dancing classes and personal training sessions. All of the events are open to the public but space is limited. RSVP by calling 800-685-6494 today.

The 20,000-square-foot clubhouse features two resort-style pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, group exercise room, basketball court, billiard room and a multipurpose meeting/event center. Outdoor recreational amenities include tennis and bocce courts, a putting green and seven parks interconnected by 2½ miles of walking trails.

Shea Homes at Ardiente are priced from the mid-$100,000s.

The Model Gallery is open daily at 5840 Summit Greens St. in North Las Vegas. For more information, visit SheaArdiente.com or call 224-8200.
