AROUND TOWN: Summer Guitar Festival kicks off today, offers two concerts

The Las Vegas Academy’s guitar club is hosting a Summer Guitar Festival from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 24 and 25 in the school’s performing arts center, located on the corner of 9th and Clark Streets.
The festival features jazz guitarist Robert Conti and national finger-picking champion and GFA International Classical Guitar winner,
Michael Chapdelaine. Registration will be held at 8 a.m. in the performing arts center. Online registration is available at www.classroomguitar.com.
Conti will performing at 7 p.m. on June 24, and Chapdelaine will perform at 7 p.m. on June 25. Tickets are available at the door for $10 for each night.
The entire festival, which includes eight guitar workshops, two concerts and lunch costs $95. A one-day pass is available for $50.
