Arthur receives big promotion at Findlay VW

You might say that native Las Vegan Mike Arthur is celebrating his 12-year anniversary in the car business with the biggest promotion of his life.

Recently named to the position of general sales manager of Findlay Volkswagen in the Valley Automall, the 34-year-old Arthur has a rich history with Findlay Automotive Group dating back to when he sold new and used vehicles for Saturn of West Sahara from 2000-2002.

"I love the car business and have been very fortunate to have landed with the Findlays," says Arthur, who, in 1995, graduated from Western High School, which just happens to be the alma mater of Findlay Automotive Group chairman Cliff Findlay. "I literally grew up on the car business and have done everything including sales, finance writer, sales manager and finance director."

However, the latest promotion also comes with a special level of both challenges and satisfaction.

"As general sales manager, it's my job to make sure we have a strong sales force," explained Arthur. "I have many goals, including that I want this store to be No. 1 in the Western Region for Volkswagen new-car sales."

Arthur's rich history in the car business has enabled him to relate to others, who have not only entered sales, but other positions.

"I have learned from several great leaders who have come from Findlay Volkswagen," Arthur explained. "They have included Jim DiGuilio (now general manager at Audi Henderson); Jamaal McCoy (now general manager at Findlay Chevrolet); along with current Findlay VW General Manager Jim Krumme; Robby Findlay (now general manager at Findlay Toyota/Honda/VW in Flagstaff, Ariz.); and Justin Findlay, a fifth-generation member of the Findlay family who oversees operations at Findlay Chevrolet, Findlay VW and Audi Henderson.

"I cannot imagine having a better group of leaders to learn from," Arthur said. "The wealth of experience provided by all of them has been invaluable. I came from a rough childhood in Southern Nevada and these people have played very significant roles in my development."

Arthur has been with Findlay VW since the store opened January 2002.

"I'm going to continue the Findlay way of providing great customer service while making the buying experience at the dealership one that our customers will always remember," he added. "There cannot be a better combination than the Findlay name and the Volkswagen product."

The dealership is located at 983 Autoshow Drive in Henderson.

Findlay VW is part of the Findlay Automotive Group, which was founded in 1961 by the late Pete Findlay. Cliff Findlay now spearheads new- and used-car operations in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Idaho.
