Berkley, Heller debate tax cut extension

On the contentious issue of extending tax cuts to Americans of differing income levels, it was no surprise today when Republican Rep. Dean Heller and Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley came down on opposite sides.

During U.S. House debate, the Nevada lawmakers -- both of whom are said to be considering a run for Senate in the coming year -- laid out their views on a bill that would extend expiring tax cuts only to "middle class" households with incomes less than $250,000.

The bill passed 234-188, largely along party lines.
