Planet Hyundai Sahara had an excellent selling year in 2013 and the dealership at 7150 W. Sahara Ave. has been awarded a major honor by Hyundai.

Presented with the award officially naming it the top-selling dealership in Hyundai Motor America’s Western Region District WE4, Planet Hyundai Sahara headed up a long list of fellow Hyundai dealerships in Nevada, California, Colorado, Arizona and Utah to capture the prestigious award.

Planet Hyundai General Manager Paul Pelletier praised the dealership’s staff for continued hard work and dedication.

“The car business is very complex, and it takes a well-organized team to make something like this happen,” Pelletier said. “Just as is the case with an automobile, the entire team must always be operating at 100 percent to be most effective, and that’s exactly what’s needed to win an award like this one.

“I could not be more proud than I am right now.”

Dealership General Sales Manager Jason Laguna concurred.

“This is huge,” said Laguna, a 23-year veteran of the car business, “It’s also the first time that we have beaten all of the Hyundai dealerships in California. What’s so interesting is that California has 52 more sales days during the year because dealerships there are also open on Sundays.”

The dealership’s top sales consultants in 2013 included Korean-born Ron Youn, Tony Fisher and Terry Mills who combined were responsible for more than 750 sales. The trio has a combined tenure of more than 35 years with the dealership.

“Last year was a very good year,” said Youn, who has been selling cars for nine years. “We sold a lot of cars, especially the Equus model because people really like the price and the technology included with the car.”

Mills, who serves as the dealership Internet manager, said 2013 was an excellent year.

“It was a record year for us,” said Mills, who has been in the car business for 17 years. “We had significant gains in Internet traffic for the year and we really anticipate even bigger results this year.”
