Buick Regal boasts German engineering
Gaye Cote is a well-studied buyer. However, the marketing coordinator for Wirtz Beverage Nevada instantly fell in love with the 2011 Buick Regal, which she purchased recently from Centennial Buick Mazda at 6501 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwest valley.
The Regal, a four-cylinder, 220-horsepower vehicle, gets 30 miles to the gallon on the highway and 19 mpg in town.
"Gaye was not an easy sell," said Henry Andino, a five-year veteran of the car business and a former U.S. Marine. "She actually wanted a Buick Enclave and had studied the car for months on the Internet. The Regal is the first American-born German-engineered Buick."
After several test drives, Cote found the Regal to her liking.
"She is one person who really researches her automobile purchases," Andino added. "Everyone should study a vehicle like Gaye does. I get excited about the Buick product, and that's exactly what Gaye did. The front of the car almost looks like a combination of a Jaguar and a BMW."
In her first three days of owning the Regal, Cote found many things that she liked about the car.
"I had been driving an SUV for the past 10 years," Cote explained. "I was actually shopping for an SUV, but just started to think it was too much vehicle. Henry suggested that I look at the Regal and this car was just totally different. It simply felt good and for a four-cylinder, it has great power. In addition, it's very sporty."
A native of Flint, Mich., Cote is faithful to General Motors Corp. Since her family worked for GM, she was able to get discounts on various phases of the business ranging from automobile purchase, car insurance and OnStar subscriptions.
"Those of us who grew up in Michigan love General Motors vehicles," Cote explained. "I have always had great experiences with regards to owning a Buick. The product has been excellent, and so has the service.
The Regal also comes with a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty and a five-year, 100,000 mile warranty on the power train.
"My mom worked for General Motors for 35 years. A lot of my relatives have worked for General Motors for the past 50 years at least. In fact, my grandfather moved to Michigan after the factories were converted for the war-time effort."
Cote said she enjoyed her car-buying experience at Centennial Buick GMC Mazda.
"I shopped at several other dealerships," she said. "Henry showed me a car that I had not seen at any of the other lots, and the rest is history. They included several incentives that other dealerships did not offer."
Centennial Buick GMC Mazda is headed by General Manager Jan Sheinfeld and is part of the Superstore Auto Group, which includes a total of five dealerships in Southern Nevada and more than 26 dealerships nationwide.
