Burglar stole from freezer for over a year

A Salt Lake City-area man caught on camera a burglar who had been stealing food from his garage freezer for what he said was more than a year.

Dustin Finlinson, of Magna, Utah, noticed food going missing from his garage freezer every now and then, and in February he installed security cameras to catch the thief in the act, KSL reported.

He said “somewhere around $1,000 worth of food” was taken in the past year — most recently, a box of Cosco brand chicken bakes.

“It’s about the act,” Finlinson told KSL. “If he needed food that bad, he could come knock on the door and my wife would feed him.”

He said his garage door had been broken for a long time, and it was rarely locked.

If you recognize the man in the video, you can contact the Unified Police Department.
