Cadillac Through the Years car show held at Town Square

The annual Cadillac Through the Years was April 13 at Town Square Las Vegas. The gathering, sponsored by Findlay Cadillac and the Las Vegas Cadillac and LaSalle Club featured classic Cadillacs.

“It’s true that this has become a true community event,” said John Saksa, general manager of Findlay Cadillac and Findlay Fiat in the Valley Automall. “With everything that is always going on in Southern Nevada, it’s not easy to put on an event like this one, but Cadillac Through the Years was a definite home run this time and it’s going to get bigger, too.”

Christopher Axelrod, a retiree who recently moved to the valley from Cleveland, smiled ear-to-ear as he showed his one-of-a-kind 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Seville Coupe Model 6237DX pop art car.

“I was the president of the Western Reserve Region of the Cadillac LaSalle Club,” said the energetic Axelrod, who bills himself as the Las Vegas Grand Ambassador. “This is a fabulous event. The location and the sponsorship are great.”

To complement the classic cars, the show unveiled the 2015 Cadillac Escalade and the XTS limousine.

Colin Christie, president of the Las Vegas Cadillac and LaSalle Club, had the event’s oldest car, a 1903 Cadillac Model A that drew wide interest.

“We have every decade of Cadillac represented here,” said the 70-year-old Christie, who moved to Las Vegas in 2001 after working for 35 years for General Mills Inc. in Minneapolis. “You can see how much people are enjoying themselves taking pictures to capture the show. There is a fascinating cross section of people walking the streets.”

Jaimesen Mapes, Town Square Las Vegas’ marketing coordinator, praised the event.

“Cadillac Through the Years is a signature event that our guests and tenants at Town Square look forward to each year,” Mapes said. “We’re proud to partner with Findlay Cadillac to support such a wonderful community event steeped in tradition.’

The event drew 92 classic Cadillacs to Town Square, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
