Celebrities of culture, comedy and politics like Rory Reid

Democratic candidate for Governor of Nevada Rory Reid may be trailing in statewide polls, but he's winning the hearts and minds of visiting celbrities.
Today Reid is scheduled to meet with Dolores Huerta, a prominent activist who, along with Cesar Chavez, helped found the United Farm Workers of America and has had a distinguished career as a proponent of social justice.
Huerta is scheduled to visit one of Reid's Las Vegas headquarters this afternoon.
Tonight, Reid is also scheduled to hold an event with comedian Carlos Mencia at Treasure Island.
Mencia, the son of Honduran and Mexican parents who immigrated to the United States when he was an infant, is known for his edgy jokes that poke fun at racial and ethnic differences.
Earlier this week Reid hosted a visit by former President Bill Clinton, who helped Reid raise an estimated $225,000 in contributions during a fund raiser at House of Blues followed by a rally in which Clinton urged Reid supporters to proselytize on behalf of the Democrat who trails Republican Brian Sandoval by double-digit percentage points in public opinion polls.
