SILVERSTONE RANCH TO HOST SPRING GARAGE SALE

Silverstone Ranch is scheduled to host a spring community garage sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 5. The community is on North Durango Drive between Grand Teton and Buffalo drives.

CENTENNIAL HILLS LIBRARY TO HOST DIGITAL BOOKMOBILE

The parking lot at the Centennial Hills Library, 6711 N. Buffalo Drive, is scheduled to host the Digital Bookmobile from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12. The bookmobile will include music, children story times, crafts and hands-on time with digital devices. For more information, call 702-507-6300.

MARCH TO SUPPORT NEVADANS WITH DISABILITIES PLANNED

The sixth annual Walk With Me event presented by Easter Seals Nevada to benefit Nevada residents living with disabilities is scheduled at 9 a.m. April 19 at W. Wayne Bunker Family Park, 7351 W. CONSTRUCTION RESUMES ON MEDICAL CAMPUS IN NORTHWEST VALLEY

Construction is scheduled to resume on Centennial Hills Center, 6100 N. Durango Drive, a 24.36-acre mixed-use development offering medical and professional office condominiums for sale or lease. The project consists of 18 buildings encompassing 290,269 square feet of medical and professional office and retail buildings in the northwest valley. The partially completed project, on which construction was shuttered in 2008 due to the the economic recession, is back on track for phase one completion by summer 2014.

ACTIVE ADULT CENTER TO HOST SHREDDING EVENT

The Centennial Hills Active Adult Center plans to host a free document shredding event from 10 a.m. to noon May 10 at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive. Shredding is limited to five boxes per vehicle. For more information, call the center at 702-229-1702.

CENTENNIAL HILLS PARK TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL CHILDREN’S ARTS FESTIVAL

Families are invited to the second annual Centennial Hills Children’s Arts Festival scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 31 at Centennial Hills Park, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive.

The free event will provide children with make-and-take art activities, interactive storytelling, music and dance.

The festival will also include a marketplace with an eclectic mix of local family-oriented businesses, organizations and food vendors.

SPRING CELEBRATION AND FOSTER CONNECTION PLANNED AT FLOYD LAMB PARK

The Spring Celebration and Foster Connection community event is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. April 5 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road.

The free event is set to feature foster care and adoption information and presentations, amusement rides, jump houses, music, games and a farmers market.

CAMPING EXPERIENCE PLANNED FOR DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED

Project D.I.R.T. plans to host an overnight tent camping experience for those 18 or older with developmental disabilities April 5-6 at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs, 9200 Tule Springs Road.

The event includes arts and crafts, fishing, hiking, campfire songs, s’mores and barbecue. Participants must bring a sleeping bag and toothbrush.

AID AND ATTENDANCE BENEFIT PLANNED

The Centennial Hills Active Adult Center plans to host an aid and attendance benefit from the Veterans Administration program for adults 50 or older at 9 a.m. April 8 at 6601 N. Buffalo Drive. REGISTRATION OPENS FOR RIMFIRE LEAGUE AT SHOOTING COMPLEX

Registration is now open for Clark County Shooting Complex’s, Rimfire league, set to be hosted at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays April 10-May 29. at 11357 N. Decatur Blvd.

The 22-caliber Rimfire league is set up as a handicap league, which allows shooters to have a target spot based on their individual average.

Those interested in participating may sign up as five-person teams or as individuals who would be added to a team. Anyone interested should sign up with Betty-Jane Kuhlendahl at 702-455-2002.

MOVIE SCREENING PLANNED AT CENTENNIAL HILLS PARK AMPHITHEATER

A Ward 6 Movie in the Park is planned at 6:30 p.m. April 25 at the Centennial Hills Park Amphitheatre, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive. Families are invited to watch the movie “Planes.” Admission is free. People are encouraged to bring their own blankets or folding chairs.

NEW ZUMBA STUDIO OPENS

Z Crew Studios, a Zumba fitness-inspired studio, is open at 3165 N. Rainbow Blvd. in the Cheyenne Commons Shopping Center on the corner of Cheyenne Avenue.

Z Crew Studios was started by Mandy McKellar and Denise Schoepf as a fun, nontraditional form of exercise. Classes are led by local Zumba instructor Michelle Velez.

TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM PLANNED

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance workers plan to help low- and moderate-income taxpayers complete their annual personal tax returns from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through April 14 at the Centennial Hills Community Center, 6601 N. HOMESCHOOLING GROUP SEEKS TEACHING VOLUNTEERS

The nonprofit RISE Education Resource Center, 3460 N. Rancho Drive, is seeking teaching volunteers for a variety of teen and adult courses hosted at the center.

RISE offers Spanish, math, science, German, art, robotics, and language arts classes for kids and courses on homeschooling and gluten-free eating for adults.
