Check out what Las Vegas’ most stressed out ZIP codes are

Do you feel like there’s no way anywhere in Las Vegas could be more stressful than where you live?
Well, if your ZIP code is 89101, you’re probably right, according to real estate blog Movoto.
Movoto analyzed data from the U.S. Census Five Year American Community Survey to rank 28,371 ZIP codes (every ZIP for which there was data available) based on a variety of potential stress factors:
- Unemployment rate
- Median household income
- Percent of monthly income spent on rent
- Monthly selected homeowner costs as a percent of income
- Percent of families below the poverty line
- Average commute time
- Percent of population without health insurance
- Mean usual hours worked per week
Movoto was able to get data for 98 of the 103 ZIP codes on Clark County’s metro area list (find the map here). Of the 98, 42 percent (41 codes) fell in the top 50% of most stressful ZIP codes. Take a look at the geography:
- The central valley is the most stressed location, with every ZIP falling in the top 10 percent in the country. 89101 ranked 137th in the country, the highest in the valley.
- North Las Vegas and the east come in second and third with high stress levels.
- Henderson is the least stressed area, with most ZIPs less stressed than 55-75 percent of the country.
- The Southwest follows Henderson in low stress levels, with the Summerlin area coming in third.
- 89134 had the lowest stress levels in the valley, ranked 23,031.
Of course, no survey tells the full story of a community and individual stress levels, and this one didn’t ask individuals to rate their own stress levels (another useful indicator), but it does provide interesting insight into the geography of stress in the valley.
You can check out how your ZIP code ranks on the Movoto blog post.
