Democratic shakedown at the Nevada Legislature

I had planned to write this morning about State Senate Majority Leader Steven Horsford and Nevada Democrats shaking down political contributors in a blatant "pay to play" scheme, but I thought instead of hearing it from me it might be best if you all hear it directly from a reader.

You can read the full story here. And I recommend you do. Then, consider this reader's opinion. Note the outrage. Then wonder whether you want Democrats like these guys running the state Legislature. Here we go:

"The fact is, Horsford is selling votes for money. He is so arrogant that if you give money to his Democratic pac, he will get you access. Guess that means if you're just a common citizen, you may or may not ever get any access to the very people you vote for. As to him saying it's unfortunate his letter was misconstrued ... geeze ... how else could it have been construed? And, notice Ross Miller did not make the comment it was legal according to Nevada law. Ross is very close to Horsford and does not want that to spill over on himself. He had a deputy do it. Finally, if this kind of letter from an incumbent politician is legal, then it should not be. Just how loose and non-encompassing are these laws that allow this blatant arrogance to be legal? If not illegal according to the strict interpretation of the law, then it's clearly illegal according to the spirit of the law."

Amen, brother. I hope there are thousands of Nevadans of all political stripes who are just as PO'd as this reader. This Horsford deal is about as low as it gets.
