Chinese food, whether eaten in the restaurant or taken home in one of those familiar little white boxes, is always delicious. Cheng’s lengthy menu satisfies every taste, starting with chef’s specialties such as orange beef, short beef ribs with black pepper sauce, salt and pepper shrimp, roasted duck, Seafood Delight and Kung Pao combo made with chicken, shrimp and barbecue pork. Other entrees are sweet and sour pork, Mongolian beef, shrimp chop suey, General Tso’s chicken, pad Thai spicy noodles, pork chop with Peking sauce, teriyaki beef, honey walnut shrimp, moo goo gai pan, curry chicken and Cantonese-style noodles with chicken, rice or vegetables There is egg foo yong, rice bowls, soups (Gary’s noodle, hot and sour, seafood tofu), fried rice and appetizers such as vegetable spring rolls, barbecue sliced pork, chicken lettuce wraps, cream cheese wontons and pot stickers. Several vegetarian dishes are ma po tofu, eggplant with hot garlic sauce, Szechuan bean curd, black mushrooms with Chinese greens, and snow peas with water chestnuts. Lunch specials ($5.99 to $6.59) are served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Chef’s specialties begin at $9.99. Cheng’s Express is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday.
