Dining Pick of the Week: East West Pizzeria

PICK OF THE WEEK:

EAST WEST PIZZERIA

5025 S. Fort Apache Road, 735-9044

Everyone talks about New York pizza, and now you can eat it in Las Vegas. These pies are made with premium Grande cheese and always fresh ingredients. And you know the pizza is going to taste great because the aroma of a true pizzeria fills this comfortable restaurant. All the familiar ingredients are available, or enjoy a specialty pizza such as white, meat lovers, barbecue chicken or the Chicago Up-Side Down with mozzarella, two toppings and pizza sauce on top. Popular subs include Philly cheese steak, eggplant or meatball parmigiana, Italian beef, and Italian peppers and eggs. Featured entrees are baked ravioli, chicken parmigiana, five-layer traditional lasagna, spicy pasta fra diavolo and East West pasta with homemade marinara, sweet Italian sausage, green peppers, red onions and chopped garlic. Deli sandwiches (turkey, ham, roast beef) are on a seeded kaiser roll with fries. There are soups (minestrone, pasta fagiola), salads and appetizers such as fried ravioli, garlic Parmesan fries, garlic knots and pepperoni twists. Desserts are gelato, spumoni, chocolate cake, cannolis and tiramisu. Pizzas begin at $7.99 and subs at $6.95. East West Pizzeria is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
