PICK OF THE WEEK:
EGG WORKS
6960 S. Rainbow Blvd., 361-3447
Egg Works, known for its delicious breakfasts and lunches, has expanded its menu by adding brick-oven pizzas and sandwiches at its new South Rainbow Boulevard location. Owner Brad Burdsall had been looking to expand into southwest Las Vegas and discovered a brick oven when he purchased the building. "It was only natural that I start making pizzas and strombolis," he said. There are five specialty pizzas, including barbecue chicken and margherita, as well as a build-your-own option. The classic stromboli is made with salami, ham, pepperoni, mini meatballs and shredded mozzarella and is served with a side of dipping sauce. Among the brick-oven sandwiches are meatball sub and sweet Italian sausage and peppers. The new menu also has breakfast pizzas, such as quiche (garlic, mushrooms, spinach, diced ham, bacon, sausage, Asiago cheese) and eggs Benedict. Meanwhile, regular customers can still enjoy their favorite four-egg omelets, crepes, skillets, eggs ole, pancakes, waffles, scrambles, hamburgers, and hot and cold sandwiches served with choice of house potatoes, seasoned fries, potato salad or pasta salad. The very popular Cincy chili can be served with spaghetti or over a steamed hot dog. Egg dishes begin at $6.75 and pizzas at $10.95. Egg Works is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. - Jack Bulavsky
