PICK OF THE WEEK:
MRKT SEA & LAND
Aliante Casino + Hotel, 7300 Aliante Parkway,

MRKT is a lovely restaurant that has become the place to celebrate special occasions. One reason is the wine list with some 5,000 bottles and more than 20 wines by the glass. The other more important reason is its menu featuring filet mignon, prime rib, bone-in New York and 28-ounce Porterhouse from G.F. Swift 1855 Premium Black Angus beef. Other dishes are double-cut pork chops, calves liver, salmon steak, cioppino, Alaskan king crab, lobster tail and the popular Surf & Turf (filet and lobster). Among the sides are corn pudding, roasted Brussels sprouts, baked sweet potato, stuffed tomato, sautéed spinach, onion strings and mac and cheese with lobster. Begin the meal with tomato basil or lobster bisque soup, roasted beet and goat cheese salad, Caesar or MRKT chopped salad and appetizers, including shrimp cocktail, pork belly bites, calamari, deviled eggs and the house seafood platter with lobster, Alaskan king crab, lump crab, oysters and shrimp. Desserts include truffles, strawberry shortcake, banana pudding and ice cream sundaes. Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and there is live entertainment Friday and Saturday. Entrees start at $18. MRKT is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. — Jack Bulavsky
