PICK OF THE WEEK:
PELLEGRINI PIZZA
101 S. Rainbow Blvd. at Westcliff Drive, 702-487-6443
The word is out. If you’re looking for pizza, this is the place. Not only is the pizza delicious, but you can order it according to how hungry you are starting with the 10-inch pie and going all the way to a 30-inch pizza with 14, 16, 18 and 24 inches in between. All of the toppings are there to create your own or order a specialty such as Philly, Bianco, vegetarian, Pelligrini’s Special (ground beef, mushroom, artichoke hearts, basil) or the Rise & Shine with ham, bacon and sausage topped with an egg. Among the pasta dishes are spaghetti and meatballs, seafood linguine, chicken Marsala, baked ziti and stuffed shells or manicotti with ricotta. There are half-pound hamburgers, chicken wings and fingers, soups (Tomato Florentine, Italian Wedding) and salads, including Caesar, antipasto, Greek, egg chef and steak. Popular subs include Triple D (ham, turkey, bacon), Untouchable (Italian sausage, grilled onions, peppers), roasted turkey, Italian meatball and veal, chicken or eggplant parmigiana. Several desserts are red velvet cake, zeppolis, funnel cake fries, rice pudding and The Campfire: Nutella topped with roasted marshmallows on pizza crust. Lunch specials are offered daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pizzas start at $6.99. Pellegrini Pizza is open daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. — Jack Bulavsky
