Dining Pick of the Week: Whiskey Dick’s

Whiskey Dick's invites you to eat, drink, gamble and rock. Sounds good to me. The menu may not be the biggest, but Whiskey Dick says, "It's not the size of your menu; it's how you serve the food." All one-third-pound beef patties are on sesame buns with tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle accompanied by Dick's Potato Stix or his chips. The Four Cheese Burger is with American, cheddar, jack and Swiss, and the BBQ Burger features the housemade whiskey barbecue sauce, bacon, beer-battered onion rings and American cheese. Make your own burger with toppings such as wild mushrooms, pineapple, guacamole, egg, jalapenos, mozzarella and pepper jack. All the traditional toppings are available for the 12-inch hand-tossed pizzas. Featured sandwiches are ham club, Ultimate Ranch BLT on three slices of toast, grilled cheese and the Chix Parmigiana with provolone and marinara or the Buffalo Chix tossed in medium buffalo sauce. There are Chix Toes (because Dick says everyone knows chickens don't have fingers), Chix Wings, Fish 'n Stix and the house salad with lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, diced tomatoes and shredded cheddar. Hamburgers start at $8.63 and pizza at $9.79. Whiskey Dick's is open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.
