Durango Ranch opens today

Pardee Homes will celebrate the opening of its all single-story Durango Ranch community today from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Scheduled events include cooking demonstrations with certified master chef Gustav Mauler and complimentary refreshments.

Located near the southeast corner of Durango Drive and Pebble Road in the southwest valley, Durango Ranch features single-story plans that range from 2,972 to 3,849 square feet on one-third-acre home sites.

"Durango Ranch offers a combination of features that remain rare in today's new-home market," said Regional Sales Director Rob Tuvell. "That combination includes single-story floor plans with up to five bedrooms, optional detached casitas, three-bay garages, Nevada Rooms (optional enclosed rooms in lieu of a covered patio) and RV parking pads. Another feature is the large kitchens, which will be highlighted with informal cooking demonstrations today."

Prices start from $359,990.

Pardee's Durango Ranch sales representatives Charlene Aiello and Jessica Lewis, construction superintendent Carlos Zuluaga and customer service representative Jim Rampa will be at the event to answer questions and provide information to the public.

"As a team, we couldn't be more proud of this neighborhood," Zuluaga said. "Durango Ranch homes are not only big, they are also beautiful from the inside out. And with built-in energy savings, they are a great value for families."

Plan One houses three bedrooms, three baths, office or optional fourth bedroom, great and dining rooms and three-car garage in 2,972 square feet.

Plan Two measures 3,433 square feet with three bedrooms, office or optional fourth bedroom, three baths, game, great and dining rooms, covered patio or optional Nevada Room and three-car garage.

Plan Three measures 3,849 square feet with four bedrooms and den and options for a fifth bedroom or office, 3½ baths, dining, game and great rooms, optional Nevada Room at the covered patio and three-car garage.

Last month, Pardee celebrated the opening of its new LivingSmart Homes Mountain's Edge community, a collection of three floor plans that range from 1,852 to 2,432 square feet. Located off of Buffalo and Cactus drives in Mountain's Edge, prices start from $186,990.

Pardee Homes' LivingSmart brand is a program that offers homebuyers standard and optional measures that boost energy efficiency, save water, improve indoor air quality and encourage material conservation and the use of recycled or sustainable resources in new homes, according to Zuluaga.

The company was part of the pioneering effort of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star homes in Southern Nevada in 1998.

Today, the LivingSmart program provides more than 30 Earth-friendly standard and optional systems and features for new-home buyers, and it applies to every newly designed home the company offers, Zuluaga said.

Sales office hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday. For more information, pardeehomes.com or contact an online sales counselor at 604-3332.
