Ex-host at Pure pleads guilty to filing false taxes

Oh right. Whatever happened to all those tax problems at club Pure? Here's one small tax fallout at Pure: A former VIP host at Pure just pleaded guilty to filing a false income tax return in 2006.

Richard Chu, who worked there 2005-2007, is slated for sentencing Feb. 9. Prosecutors and the Justice Department alleged most of his money came from a pool of money — collected from clubgoers for VIP seats and line passing — that was doled out every week to hosts, doormen and managers.

After his time at Pure, Chu apparently continued on as an independent host around town. Last year, the Las Vegas Weekly published a ballot for readers to vote for the best club hosts, and Chu was a nominee as "Most Established VIP Host" as an "independent" host.
