Former UNLV coach Horton to join San Diego State staff

Former UNLV head football coach Jeff Horton is joining fellow Mountain West Conference member San Diego State as its assistant head coach and running backs coach, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Horton coached the Rebels from 1994 to 1998, going 13-44. He most recently was Minnesota's interim coach, and ended last season with victories over Indiana and Iowa.
