Girl, 10, dies after riding roller coaster at Magic Mountain

A young girl who was airlifted from Six Flags Magic Mountain last week after losing consciousness while exiting the Revolution ride has died.

Jasmine Martinez, 10, of Somis, Calif., died Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Los Angeles Times reported. A cause of death was not reported as of Monday afternoon.

Martinez had been riding the looping roller coaster when she lost consciousness, park officials said. The ride includes a 90-foot-tall loop and reaches speeds of 55 mph.

The ride is currently closed as authorities investigate the incident, LA Times reported.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Jasmine’s family and friends during this difficult time,” a statement from Magic Mountain read.
