GoPro video shows man’s journey into active volcano

George Kourounis (of “Angry Planet” fame) is no stranger to extreme adventure — even when it could end with him falling into an active, lava-filled volcano.

A GoPro video uploaded this week to YouTube shows Kourounis and Sam Cossman venture into the Marum Crater in the South Pacific Ocean, one of the world’s most inaccessible volcanos.

The two were guided by volcanic pioneers Geoff Mackely and Brad Ambrose into a place visited by fewer (known) people than have visited the moon.

The volcano was a “window into hell,” Kourounis told the Huffington Post. “Dramatic and violent.”
