Gov. Gibbons not happy with campaign kitty

The Secretary of State still hasn't received Gov. Jim Gibbons' campaign finance report.

But the following statement from Gibbons campaign Southern Nevada Director of Operations Matt Williams suggests the total isn't good for the governor.

When asked earlier for a statement on campaign funding to this point Williams replied: "The Governor's fundraising is behind where he had hoped he would be at this point, but he is optimistic about the future and will continue to work to attract more money for his reelection.

It is important to note that on election day, it's not a question of who spent the most money, it is a question of who is the better candidate, and Governor Gibbons believes he is the best leader for Nevada."

In 2009 Democratic candidate Rory Reid raised about $2.6 million, Republican Brian Sandoval raised about $900,000 and Republican Mike Montandon reported raising about $300,000.
