Greenspun companies file bankruptcy

This story in the Las Vegas Sun spent a lot of time trying to downplay bankruptcy and no time explaining what losing such big bets mean for the family fortune.

That's not so much an interesting story. Newspapers never cover themselves well.

The more interesting story is how many "sons-of-the-pioneer" families in Las Vegas have been financially diminished (some even wiped out) by the current depression of the Las Vegas economy, especially those who ventured outside their historical core competency.

That story has yet to be written.
