Harmony to hold grand opening

This weekend, Harmony Homes is celebrating the grand opening of its newest community, Aspire at Mountain's Edge.

The gated community, located in the southwestern part of Las Vegas, offers three floor plans, including one single-story plan, ranging from 2,973 to 4,160 square feet. Homes at Aspire include three-car garages and an option for as many as six bedrooms.

Robert Beville, president of the locally owned company, said the three floor plans all provide spacious family areas, oversized master bedrooms and master closets, and ample backyards.

"We have always believed that smart, creative use of space makes all the difference, and sets our homes apart," Beville said. "The three plans we're offering at Aspire include open floor plans and spectacular great rooms, and the result is amazing, dramatic homes that are unlike any other production homes on the market."

Aspire is adjacent to Exploration Park, the largest park in Mountain's Edge, and near the Nathaniel Jones Park.

Exploration Park includes children's play areas, a splash pad, picnic areas and an outdoor amphitheater. It sits at the base of Exploration Peak, a restored natural mountain park featuring bicycle trails and walking paths leading to marked vantage points at the top of the peak. Nathaniel Jones Park also features child play areas and a splash pad, as well as lighted basketball courts.

According to the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, home prices in Southern Nevada have been rising for the past eight months in a row. Las Vegas also recently saw its first year-over-year price gain since January 2007, according to the Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller index.

Beville said he expects the improving Southern Nevada housing market to contribute to the success of Aspire. This year has been Harmony Homes' best sales year to date, and Beville said several of its communities that were expected to have homes for sale into 2013 have already sold out.

"People recognize that now is a great time to buy because prices are still very affordable and interest rates are low. At the same time, we're finally seeing sustained positive momentum in the housing industry," Beville said. "The combination of high demand and low inventory is driving the local housing market, and we're excited to introduce Aspire and give buyers the opportunity to own a home in such a beautiful community."

In early December, Harmony Homes is expected to celebrate the grand opening of a second Mountain's Edge community, Serenada, which will offer three floor plans, ranging from 2,151 to 2,636 square feet. Standard features will include granite kitchen countertops and paver driveways. Additionally, master bedrooms include two full closets, a design feature that was included in response to buyer interest in ample in-home storage.

In January, Harmony Homes is expected to celebrate the grand opening of Aviano in Henderson. The gated community features a community pool and a park.

Mountain's Edge is at the intersection of Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road. To visit, take the southern Las Vegas Beltway to Buffalo and head south to Blue Diamond. Or, take Interstate 15 to the Blue Diamond exit and travel west to Mountain's Edge.

Harmony Homes has sold more than 1,200 homes since it was formed in Southern Nevada in late 2008.

It offers 11 neighborhoods throughout Southern Nevada, with one- and two-story homes priced from the mid-$100,000s and ranging from 1,797 to 4,900 square feet. It is also offering four new communities in Texas and two in Southern California.

Sales offices are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Monday, when they open at noon. For more information, call 702-994-8701, or visit www.harmonyhomes.com.
